Varian Medical Systems shares were barely higher Wednesday after the company said it won an order from the oncology center at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand for its ProBeam Compact single-room proton therapy system. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
The company got the contract through its distributor Business Alignment and will book the order for the equipment in Q3 of this fiscal year, it said in a statement on Wednesday. First patient treatments are expected to start in the second half of 2019. In addition to the equipment, Varian will also supply its Eclipse treatment planning system and Aria information management system.
