JetBlue Airways Q2 Results Top Projections

JetBlue Airways shares were higher 3% in pre-market trade after the company reported Q2 earnings of $0.64, up from $0.53 in the same period a year ago and exceeding the estimate of $0.57 from analysts polled by CapIQ.

Total revenues of $1.84 billion were up from $1.64 billion in the same period a year ago and topped the Street projection of $1.82 billion. The company said it expects capacity to increase between 6.5% and 7.5% in Q3. For the FY, JetBlue expects capacity to increase between 5.5% and 6.5%, revised from prior guidance of 5.5% to 7.5%..
